The Encounters tab is where you meet new people on Badoo. You’ll see one profile at a time, and you can decide if you’d like to connect or not.
You’ll see someone’s photo, name, age, and a few details about them. Then it’s your move. To use Encounters:
- Open the Badoo app
- Tap the Encounters icon at the bottom of your screen
- Tap the heart icon if you like someone, or the cross (x) icon to pass
- You’ll get a notification (if you have them enabled) when you have a match. You can start chatting right away in your Chats tab.
Accidentally passed on someone?
If you have Badoo Premium or Extra, you can tap ‘Undo’ (top right corner) to bring back the last profile you said “no” to. You can use this feature as you continue swiping, but it only works for your most recent pass.
If you accidentally like someone, this can’t be undone. However, if you do end up matching with them, you can always choose to unmatch afterwards.
Update your preferences
Want to see more people who fit what you’re looking for? You can update your preferences anytime:
- Go to Encounters or Discover
- Select the filter icon in the top right corner
- Adjust your age range, distance, or gender filters
Your Encounters feed will automatically refresh with people who match your choices.
Things to know:
- It's not possible to actively search for another member using their name or phone number, but adjusting your filters can help you narrow your search
- There isn't a specific section where you can directly see a list of the people you've liked. However, they may appear again in the Encounters or Discover tabs.
- If you run out of votes, that means you've reached your vote limit for the day. It will refresh 24 hours after you reach your vote limit, so check back tomorrow to continue matching with new people. If you can’t wait until then, you can always subscribe to Premium to get unlimited votes in Encounters.
- If you want to be seen by more people in Encounters and increase your chances of finding a match, you can use Credits to purchase Extra Shows.
- You can send a Crush (purchased with Premium, Extra, or Credits) to stand out and show someone you’re really interested
