Blocking someone

​​If someone is making you uncomfortable or you simply don’t want to interact with them, you can block them at any time. Blocking someone removes them from your match list and prevents future contact.

On the Badoo app

If you have a conversation going:

1. Open the conversation with the person you want to block
2. Tap the three dots (...) icon in the top-right corner
3. Select ‘Unmatch and Block’
4. Choose a reason (you can select ‘I’m just not interested’ if you only want to block them)
5. Tap ‘Block’ 

If you haven’t matched or don’t have a conversation started:

1. Open the person's profile
2. Tap the three dots (...) icon
3. Tap ‘Block’

To unblock someone:

1. Open your Profile page

2. Tap the Settings (gear icon) in the top right corner

3. Scroll down and select Blocked users

4. Tap the profile you’d like to unblock

5. Tap the three dots (...) in the top right corner of their profile

6. Select Unblock

On Badoo web

If you have a conversation going:

1. Go to the chat with the person you want to block
2. Open their profile by clicking on their name
3. Click the three dots (...) icon on the top right corner of their profile
4. Select ‘Unmatch and Block’ and choose your reason (optional)

If you haven’t matched or don’t have a conversation started:

1. Open the person’s profile
2. Click the three dots (...) icon
3. Click ‘Block’
4. Pick a reason (optional) 

To unblock someone:

1. Open your Profile page

2. Click the Settings (gear icon) in the top right corner

3. Scroll down and select Blocked users

4. Click on the profile you’d like to unblock

5. Select the three dots (...) in the top right corner of their profile

6. Select Unblock

Things to note

At the moment, you can only block someone through the app or website. You won't be able to block someone by their name, phone number, or from your phone contact list. If you come across someone you don’t want to see, please feel free to block them using the details above. Blocking someone is private—they won’t be notified.

If the person’s behavior goes against our Community Guidelines, we encourage you to report them so our moderation team can take appropriate action.

Unblocking someone

When you block someone, what happens after you unblock them depends on where you interacted with them before: 

• If you had an active chat:
  Blocking and then unblocking will restore your conversation. You’ll see the chat again in your Messages, even if you don’t send a new message after unblocking.
   
• If they were in Likes, your match queue, or Discover:
  After unblocking, their profile won’t automatically return to those sections if you close their profile without taking action. You may come across them again, but this isn’t guaranteed.
