Phone Verification is one of the ways we make sure Badoo stays a genuine and secure place to meet new people.
You may be asked to verify your phone number when you first create an account, log in using your phone number, or occasionally as part of a routine security check.
This process links a unique phone number to your profile and confirms that you’re a real person—not a bot or fake account. By doing this, we help protect our members from impersonation, catfishing, and fraudulent activity.
How to verify your number on Badoo
- Open your Badoo profile
- Select the pencil icon to open the profile editor
- Scroll down to ‘Mobile number’ and tap ‘Add number’ or 'Edit' (depending on whether you've already got a number added)
- Enter your number and select 'Verify number'
- We’ll then send you a code via SMS or call your number (you do not need to answer this)
- Enter the SMS code or the last six digits of the number we called you from to verify your account
Having trouble verifying?
Code not working or expired
Why this might happen:
- The code was entered incorrectly
- The code expired (codes are only valid for a short time)
What to do:
- Request a new verification code and use it right away
- Make sure you’re entering the most recent code if you requested several
- Avoid copying and pasting. It’s best to type the code manually.
“Number already in use”
Why this might happen:
- The phone number is already connected to another Badoo account
What to do:
- If you’ve used this number before, try logging in with it instead of creating a new account
- If you can’t access your old account, contact our Support team for help recovering it
Verification Keeps Failing
Why this might happen:
- Temporary carrier or server issues
- SMS messages being blocked by a VPN, spam filter, or phone settings
What to do:
- Turn off any VPNs or apps that might block SMS messages
- Make sure SMS permissions are enabled for Badoo in your phone settings
- Restart your device and try again later
Not receiving the verification call?
Why this might happen:
- Your carrier may have blocked the call or flagged it as spam
- You may be in an area with poor signal
- You're using a VoIP or internet-based number, which may not support verification calls
What to do:
- Make sure your phone isn't in Do Not Disturb mode or set to silence unknown numbers
- Check that you have a strong mobile signal before requesting the call
- Try requesting an SMS code instead, if you haven't already
- If you're using a VoIP or internet-based number, try a standard mobile number instead
- If the problem persists, contact our Support team for help
