ID Verification helps us confirm that you are who you say you are. To keep Badoo a safe space for everyone aged 18 and over, you may be asked to complete Age Verification.
We use your ID to confirm your age and check that your photo matches your profile. Once you’ve successfully verified, you’ll receive a badge on your profile to let other members know you’ve completed the ID process.
Why we ask for age verification
Even if you have previously verified your ID, we may ask you to ID verify again if we have reason to believe you may be under 18.
If you see a prompt to verify your identity, just follow these steps:
- Tap “Verify your identity” or “Verify your age” on the verification screen
- Follow the prompts to upload a photo of a valid government-issued ID (such as a passport or driver’s license)
- Take a quick live selfie when prompted
We’ll securely check that your ID and selfie match your profile. Once this is done, we’ll notify you in the app.
If you don’t see a verification prompt, there’s nothing you need to do right now.
